Bauhaus and Modern Life, Installation View (2nd Floor), 2019
In the total of four exhibition rooms on the 2nd and the 3rd floors, there are the original designs of those who had taught and learned from the Bauhaus. The Bauhaus created a new aesthetic form for the industrial age by simplifying the forms of the things, emphasizing its function and reducing the decorative elements. The viewers surrounded by the items, we generally use, such as desks, chairs or lamps will be able to picture our daily scenes.
Through the exhibition, the audiences can observe the changes in social perceptions, the development of new materials and technologies. Also, they can see the free artistic experiment of designers.
Bauhaus and Modern Life
will show how the 20th century’s designers were eager to realize a concept of art and life for a new coming era through experiments and innovation.
